Happy 50th Francisco and Josefa!
The grandparents of our host
family had their 50th wedding anniversary in June. It was an occasion that
demanded a party. So, the entire family got together, pooled their money,
and threw a party for 500 people at the church. They bought rings for the
couple, a special new huipil (woven blouse) for Josefa, a huge cake, and enough
roast chicken to feed an army. Relatives and friends came from miles
around (even Italy) to share in the festivities. It was a really great
night.
