Friends
Our families have been here to
visit. It was great to have them here. But no visit made us miss
being in Austin more than when Matt and Joel came to stay for a while. We
were used to only seeing our families every few months, but these guys were
people we used to see on a weekly basis - shooting pool, going out for a beer,
goofing off. They had lots of news from home, like which roads were now
finished, who all of our friends were now dating, and how our dogs were faring
under foster care. Good thing they came when we had just over three months
left here.
They braved our house in Cantel
before going with us to Lake Atitlan and Antigua. In Cantel, they helped
us plant our final crop of corn, which is now growing nicely. Who would
have known they had the magic touch? Afterward, we cooled off in the pool
hat sits next to the public bath house. It was a good time for the whole
family.

on this site, you know that we have been to the Lake and Antigua a few
times. Still, every time is an adventure. Guys, thanks for
