Howard County Signs Covenant
The six folks from Howard County
had a great time here in Guatemala. They were here to begin a three-year
covenant with the Boca Costa Maya Quiche Presbytery and were met with love,
hugs, and a little conjunctivitis (i.e. "pink eye"). Thankfully
I was the one that contracted it and not any of them AND they had along with
them two nurses (Kris and Becky) who got me some medicine and told me how to use
it. Now it's just a matter of getting the drops in my eyes and not on my
cheeks, because I don't think it really works if you only put it on your
face. But, alas, I digress.
What's important here is the great
work that God is doing through the Howard County church and its members.
We sat in hours and hours of the Presbytery meeting that were far from exciting
(whew, was it long!). In the end though, we got to see the
joy and excitement in their faces when the covenant was signed and the
partnership had officially begun.
