A group of young adults
representing the Presbyterian Church's Peacemaking program visited Guatemala for
a very inspirational ten days. The goal was to learn more about issues of
peace and justice in our world, using Guatemala as a "case study" of
sorts.
The group met with famous poets,
Mayan spiritualists, guerilla leaders, coffee plantation owners, and those
working for justice in Guatemala. Each person we encountered was full of
strength and insight. They gave us all the gift of inspiration to carry
with us as we try to affect change in this world for the better. After
seeing the fire in the hearts of each of these Peacemaking visitors, we believe
that the change will indeed happen.
