I think I deserve a t-shirt. You know the ones, they always start out with "I SURVIVED THE..." What a great time we had! Check out all our family! It was such a joy to become a part of such huge family and wierd at the same time. After growing up for years in a family of 3, just Mom, Ker and I, it's wierd to all of a sudden be related to 100+ people who all have your last name. But, it was wierd in a GOOD WAY!
I also found out I am not the only Japanese Dannemiller. Who knew! The family jokes that they are the Danemotos. We have no such nickname, so "Scabby" will have to do for now. And, as everyone told me ahead of time, it was a talk-a-thon with 20 conversations going at once, lots of laughter and lots of singing. We had a great time and felt so lucky to be back in the States in time to attend.
Now we're exhausted and recuperating. While we were some of the youngest to attend the festivities, we slept the most and talked the least. I know this is hard to believe but it's true! I got some great marriage advice, tips on child-rearing and all kinds of good stories about Scotty.
